Cake Order Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions for Cake Orders

It’s important to us that our handcrafted cakes reach you and your guests without any disappointment or surprises. Please take a moment to read these Terms & Conditions so we can proceed together knowing all relevant details are clear.

Cake Design & Consultation

Our bespoke cakes are individually made to order. You can browse our portfolio, or we can design something unique for you. We offer a no obligation design consultation service for all cakes. Any cake ordered from a picture or photo of a cake produced elsewhere can only be reproduced as our interpretation and will not be a like for like replica. Please be aware that some designs are protected by copyright and therefore cannot be copied.

Allergies

While your cake may not be made with nuts or nut products, it is prepared in a kitchen where nut products and other allergens may be present. Cakes, fillings and icings may contain, or come into contact with, soy, wheat, dairy and nuts. It is your responsibility to inform guests of this information. We shall not be held liable for any allergic reaction resulting from consumption of the cake.

Non Edible Supplies

Orders may contain non edible items such as ribbons, flower or feather holders, dowels or wires in sugar flowers. On delivery/collection we will make the recipient aware of any non edible items that must be removed before serving.

Order Timeframes

14 days’ notice, secured with a $100 deposit. Rush orders may be possible depending on our schedule, design complexity and date availability—please ask.

Deposits

All deposits become due once you have placed, checked and confirmed the details of your order. If a due deposit is not received, we will hold your date for no longer than 7 days after booking; after that time the date is not guaranteed and may be released. All celebration cake orders require a non refundable deposit of $100, except when placed at short notice. If the order is placed with less than 7 days notice for a celebration cake, payment in full is required.

Final Balance Payment

Payable by EFTPOS/cash on collection, or EFTPOS/cash on delivery. Cakes will not be released until payment has been received in full. We accept no responsibility for any loss caused by non delivery in these circumstances.

Cancellation

Please note that all deposits are non refundable and non transferable. If you cancel your order after the details have been agreed and confirmed, the deposit remains non refundable. If you cancel with less than 14 days’ notice for celebration cakes, the full amount is non refundable. In the unlikely event that we need to cancel your order, any deposits paid will be fully refunded. Reasons may include death, injury, severe illness, medical conditions or accident.

Cake Design Alterations

Your cake is important to us, so please take the time to check your quote/order carefully. It is your responsibility to contact us with any changes required. We will accommodate changes where possible but cannot guarantee to do so and reserve the right to increase the price for extra work required. Changes to your original design may affect the price, and materials already purchased may not be refundable. We are unable to make any changes within 7 days of the delivery/collection date.

Change of Collection/Delivery Date

If you need to reschedule your occasion date, we will do our best to accommodate at no additional charge provided sufficient notice is given and we are available on the new date. We cannot guarantee availability. If we are fully booked for your new date and cannot provide the cake, deposits and monies paid remain non refundable and non transferable.

Collection

Collections are by prior arrangement within the time slot stated on your order confirmation. A signature is required on collection confirming that the cake has been received in good condition and as specified. We accept no liability for any damage once the cake has been collected and signed for.

Set Up

While we ensure your cake is presented at its very best, the stability and levelness of the table on which it is displayed—and the surrounding conditions—are outside our control. Please ensure the presentation table is stable, level and sturdy enough to hold the cake. Cakes can melt under extreme conditions such as a hot marquee in summer.

Quality & Storage

Your cake will be baked as close to the delivery/collection date as possible to ensure quality and freshness. Cakes covered with fondant should be stored in a cool, dry place, preferably in the box supplied. They should not be refrigerated. We suggest cakes are eaten as close to the delivery/collection date as possible. We advise that all food should be consumed within 24 hours of first serving. Any food consumed after that time is at the client’s discretion and responsibility. Once food has been delivered, responsibility for consumption lies with the customer, indemnifying us of liability for personal use. Weather Heat and humidity can adversely affect your cake. In warmer months we recommend keeping the cake in an air conditioned area or, at minimum, a cool location (refrigeration is not recommended for fondant cakes). When collecting, transport in an air conditioned vehicle. We are not responsible for any damage caused by weather conditions.

Exemption

If damage occurs due to our proven fault, a partial or full refund may be considered at our discretion; this is determined on an individual basis. Proof must be provided immediately, either in person or via clear photographs. Please note that certain designs (e.g., topsy turvy) are more structurally sensitive than others; improper handling can lead to damage. Assuming all reasonable precautions have been taken by us to provide sound structural support, we accept no liability for any damage once the cake is in the customer’s possession.
